Cuisine: American.

In august 2012 the cheesecake factory opened its first Middle Eastern outlet in Dubai. This highly respectable and world renowned company had worldwide revenue of $453m USD, so it is no slouch in the specialised food market.

The Dubai Mall & The Mall of the Emirates is now host to the cheesecake factory

The menu is astonishing with over 200 selections of cheesecake of which 50 are signature dishes. This is the third Cheesecake Factory restaurant that has opened outside of the United States, under The Cheesecake Factory’s licensing agreement with Alshaya, the UAE’s franchise operator. The queue for a table reaches far outside of the restaurants, which makes this such an extraordinary story of the love of this restaurant chain. There are plans to open a total of 22 restaurants in the Middle East, and if they are as successful as the ones in the Dubai malls, the reputation can only be considerably enhanced further.  Is it just cheesecake on the menu?…   No, not at all.

The menu contains over 200 different eating options. The menu range from Jamaica black pepper shrimp to steak diane, over 15 different varieties of pasta as well as steaks, chops, pizza, sandwiches, meatloaf, seafood specials, salads, sandwiches and a huge array of appetisers.
“The idea behind it is comfort food, made from scratch – meals that you get in fine restaurants served in a casual environment at a more agreeable price point,” says Scott Thomas, the director of operations.

Majority of the cheesecake are flown in from The Cheesecake Factory’s central kitchen in Calabasas, California to ensure consistency and quality control. A single slice in its Dubai’s outlets will cost you around Dh32 with some varieties that can be purchased as a whole cake rather than wedges.
Flavours range from the long established favourite, the Fresh Strawberry (consisting of graham cracker crust, sour cream topping, and glazed strawberries) to Mango Key Lime (consisting of mango mousse on a vanilla macaroon crust) to Craig’s Crazy Carrot Cake Cheesecake (consisting of carrot cake and cheesecake swirled together and topped with cream cheese icing and roasted icing) and a whole lot more.
So far in the UAE, the favourite by a long way is the Oreo Dream Extreme – creamy cheesecake layered with Oreo cookies, topped with Oreo cookie mousse and chocolate icing. We can see only one drawback to the cheesecake factory, what to choose, as the menu is astonishingly mouth watering and finger licking good.
The beverages available are pretty impressive as well, and you just have to try the different types of lemonade on the menu such as the mango, strawberry and raspberry all of which are not found anywhere else. This is the complete restaurant with the American twist of every course appealing to anyone. Wow is the only way that can describe the latest phenomenon that is the cheesecake factory.
