Mirdif City Centre is one of the latest of the shopping malls currently to open in Dubai boasting over 350 shops. This was initially conceived in April 2007 and construction started 5 months later with the grand opening date of 16 March 2010. The company owning this mall expects to build a further 20+ malls in the next 5 years in the Middle East with some of that possibly to be in Dubai.

Mirdif City Centre is slightly smaller in size to the Mall of the Emirates, with some 75 eating outlets comprising of two food courts, cafes, restaurants, a Carrefour hypermarket which is the largest hypermarket chain in the world in terms of size, the second largest retail group in the world in terms of revenue and third largest in profit after Wal-Mart and Tesco.

There is also a 10 screen outdoor cinema complex, and a Play Nation children’s entertainment area. The most unusual and unique concept for this mall is the activities that are found within in its 25,000sq meter entertainment mall such as “iFly”-an indoor skydiving centre, Aquaplay-a water based recreation zone and Soccer Circus, an interactive football attraction. It also includes a fitness centre, salon, spas, community room and medical clinics.
